Pickling
Two-component pickler for the bleaching of raw wood surfaces. Stable in application and easy to use.
Description
Characteristics and use:
DECO2 is a stabilized bi-component solution specifically for the bleaching treatment of raw wood surfaces.
DECO2:
- compared to traditional bleaching techniques (e.g. hydrogen peroxide and ammonia) ensures easier and safer use on site;
- does not develop toxic gases;
- allows the application of any subsequent paint, wax or oil-waxy impregnation finish;
- does not leave harmful residues on the wood.
The intensity and the final result of the bleaching is in function of the type of wood essence and can vary, for the same wood, from element to element (planks, tablets, beams, etc.). It is therefore advisable to carry out samples sufficiently representative of the finished product.
DECO2 works only on raw woods and does not remove and/ or discoloration pigments and colors applied on wood with paints, paints and fixatives.
How to use
The maximum bleaching effect of the DECO2 product you can have it with about 3 application cycles.
- Apply DECO2 on rough wooden surfaces;
- Mix the two components in a ratio of 5 parts of DECO2 Comp.A to 1 part of DECO2 Comp.B and only in plastic or glass containers;
- The solution thus obtained remains stable for about 8 hours;
- Distribute DECO2 (A+B) evenly on the surface with a brush/sponge/wax spreader wetting the wood abundantly;
- Let the wood dry generally. On wood rich in tannin (e.g. oak and chestnut) or aged it may be useful to rub the DECO2 solution with a sponge or soft cloth removing the surface excess from the wood;
- Reapply another coat of product as soon as the wood is dry and leave to dry;
- The bleaching action is progressive and is completed 4-6 hours after drying of the last step;
- Eliminate the defibration of the wood using an abrasive net (e.g. 80-100 grit).
Do not leave the unused final solution in closed containers, but dispose of it by dispersing it in plenty of water.
Yield:
- for each application, the yield of the DECO2 solution A+B is about 3-4 m²/lt.

Faq
Can DECO2 also be applied to varnished or treated wood?
No, only on rough woods.
Does it also whiten exotic woods (e.g. teak, iroko)?
No, as the nature of the wood is dark. It just gets a little clearer.

Indications of danger: It causes serious skin burns and serious eye injuries.
Precautionary recommendations: IF IN EYES: Rinse carefully for several minutes. Remove any contact lenses if it is easy to do so. Continue rinsing. – IF ON SKIN (or hair): take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin [or take a shower]. – Wear protective gloves / clothing and eye / face protection. – IF SWALLOWED: rinse mouth. DO NOT induce vomiting. – IF INHALED: remove the injured person to fresh air and keep him at rest in a position that is comfortable for breathing.
